Turkey, Azerbaijan May Create a Joint Turkic Army

Turkish parliament speaker Mustafa Sentop announced today (28 July) that Turkey and Azerbaijan are discussing the potential creation of a joint Turkic army.

“One nation-two states is our idea. It will always remain so. In this regard, we held many rounds of negotiations and reached many agreements,” Speaker added.

The announcement was made after the first-ever trilateral meeting of Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Pakistani parliament speakers.

It was also seen that Turkey voiced its strong support to Azerbaijan during the war against Armenia on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. However, Azer’s capital insisted that it had no combat assistance from Ankara or any other foreign country as it was ready to protect its interests on its own.

Azerbaijan also officially denied reports that Turkey was going to build three air bases on its territory.
